Insulation Contractor is a two-part liquid product that can be sprayed into walls, ceilings, crevices and on slabs to create a sealed thermal envelope. The resulting insulation can save up to 50% on heating and cooling costs. It also reduces excess waste, which is a big benefit for the environment as it utilizes less of our non-renewable resources. It is also non-toxic once it has cured. Our team uses a closed-cell soy-based spray polyurethane foam called HEATLOK SOY, which is safe for homes and businesses. It is delivered in eco-friendly drums that we happily let people take once they are emptied. This helps to recycle the plastic and is a great way to make use of our world’s limited non-renewable resources.
Besides providing excellent thermal insulating qualities, spray foam can also prevent air leakage and provide an effective moisture barrier. This can be especially helpful in high humidity climates. Spray foam can also significantly improve indoor air quality, by sealing gaps and preventing outdoor pollutants like dust, pollen and animal droppings from entering the living area.
Spray Foam Insulation for New Constructions | New Generation Spray Foam
A new generation of eco-friendly spray foams has been developed that contain blowing agents with a much lower global warming potential than their predecessors. The Chemours company, for example, has a new eco-friendly foam technology known as Opteon 1100 that is free of Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) and Hydrofluoroolefins (HFOs). It uses a low-GWP blowing agent that is derived from the naturally occurring methyl methane. It is a medium-density spray foam that offers superior insulating performance with a remarkable stability.
